Barista-Professional
The Barista Skills Professional course is the pinnacle of our barista training program, building on the foundational and intermediate courses. Designed for those with at least 12 months of barista experience, this 21-hour course delves into advanced skills and the scientific principles behind professional coffee preparation. Participants will refine their techniques in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art, while mastering workflow efficiency and quality control. Additionally, this course covers the advanced aspects of coffee flavor profiles, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and customer service. Upon completion, candidates will have demonstrated the expertise expected of a head barista.

Prerequisites
Barista Skills Intermediate course, Introduction to Coffee, and Barista Skills Foundation are recommended. All knowledge and skills from these modules will be assumed to be held and may be tested through practical and/or written assessments. Brewing Intermediate is also recommended. The ideal candidate has worked as a barista for a minimum of 12 months, in a role with some managerial responsibilities.
Practical Exam Information

- Passing Score: The Professional Barista Skills practical exam tests the key skills demanded of a high-level coffee professional. Each section is carefully calibrated to evaluate the learner’s skill competencies. All sections must be passed in order to pass the exam as a whole. A 100% score is not expected. Please refer to the exam for section passing scores.

Moreover, Manson serves as a lecturer for the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI), where he teaches quality evaluation classes.
